The queer care aids

Care aids are devices and products that help people in need of care from the LGBTI* community to maintain a higher degree of independence and quality of life and to relieve relatives and caregivers. In many cases, long-term care insurance covers all or part of the costs. There are different types of long-term care aids, such as wheelchairs, nursing beds, toilet chairs, shower chairs, bathtub lifts, stair lifts, incontinence products, nursing clothing and nutritional aids. However, the assumption of costs is subject to certain conditions and the selection of products is specified in the list of aids of the statutory health and long-term care insurance funds. Nursing aids are usually provided on a loan basis. We give you a further overview here.

LGBTI - care services

This blog post describes specialized care services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people. These groups of people often have specific needs and requirements in relation to care that need to be adequately addressed. LGBTI care services include aspects such as sensitivity and knowledge in dealing with LGBTI issues, respect for individual gender identities and expressions, support in coping with discrimination and social isolation, and cooperation with LGBTI organizations and groups. Care facilities and care providers offer specialized LGBTI care services by training caregivers to give them a better understanding of the needs of LGBTI people and by creating environments that are safe and respectful for LGBTI people. LGBTI care services are important to ensure that LGBTI people receive the care they need and deserve and to create a supportive environment.
