Care aids are devices and products that help people in need of care from the LGBTI* community to maintain a higher degree of independence and quality of life and to relieve relatives and caregivers. In many cases, long-term care insurance covers all or part of the costs. There are different types of long-term care aids, such as wheelchairs, nursing beds, toilet chairs, shower chairs, bathtub lifts, stair lifts, incontinence products, nursing clothing and nutritional aids. However, the assumption of costs is subject to certain conditions and the selection of products is specified in the list of aids of the statutory health and long-term care insurance funds.
